Brooklyn / Baybrook / Curtis Bay
Nestled behind a residential block just off Patapsco Avenue in Curtis Bay, the Victory Garden is a model urban community farm that has been the scene of tremendous improvement in the past two years.
Working in collaboration with the Greater Baybrook Alliance, City of Refuge and enlisting the help of local youth through our Baltimore Builders program, The Victory Garden is now a site where neighbors grow a variety of fresh vegetables and other crops that are sold to area restaurants and farmer’s markets, as well as for food relief to seniors and families in need.
Since taking on stewardship of the garden, Grow Home has helped double the amount of planting space while installing systems to better irrigate crops while preventing flooding. The Victory Garden also serves as a training site for area youth to learn about urban agriculture, engineering and construction through partnerships with contractors and urban farming experts.
